Age & Dementia Friendly Group reviews grant setback, plans Memory Café launch.

Age & Dementia Friendly Implementation Group · Meeting of January 28, 2026

BELCHERTOWN — The Age & Dementia Friendly Implementation Group approved prior meeting minutes and discussed grant updates and new programming. The group's AARP Community Challenge Grant application for $18,750 in benches, kiosks, and materials was not selected due to overwhelming demand, though Jessica Langlois recommends preserving the submission for reapplication. The Memory Café "Better Together," facilitated by Fallon Health, launches November 12, 2025.

Separately, the town has received a $2.7 million grant for Warren Wright Road culvert replacement, which includes community outreach scheduled for May and June. Kirsten Krieger has resigned, and Whitney Jorns-Kuhnlenz is the new Select Board liaison.
