Board approves Trustees of Reservation tax exemption and valuation agreement
Board of Assessors · Meeting of February 10, 2026
Belchertown Board of Assessors approves Trustees exemption and valuation accord. Chair Loring Caney led the board in a 2-0 vote to exempt property owned by Trustees of the Reservation, requiring annual 3ABC filings, and approving a FY27 personal property utility valuation agreement with consultant Roy Bishop at $500 per account. The town increasingly relies on new growth from the 504 utility class for revenue assessment.
Vice Chair Craig Tommila seconded Caney's motions. The board also signed Gregory Hanscom's Forest Management Plan and approved a Hero Act motor vehicle excise abatement for John Pyne.
