BELCHERTOWN — The Belchertown capital committee confirms FY27 priorities, flags substantial long-term building planning questions. The Capital Improvement Planning Committee unanimously approved its FY27 project list Monday, with Chair Eric Weiss to present the prioritized requests to the selectboard by March 23. The committee identified substantial challenges: capital needs far exceed available funding, and the district must answer critical questions about Jabish Brook Middle School's long-term role before committing to multi-million dollar roof and window replacements potentially eligible for state funding support.
The committee will reconvene March 18 to vet FY28-FY31 requests with department heads.
