Capital committee prioritizes 27 FY27 projects in draft ranking

Belchertown Capital Improvement Committee ranks 27 capital projects for fiscal 2027 budgeting. Chair Eric Weiss presided over the prioritization process, which sorted the $1.78 million in requests into nine high-priority projects totaling $662,900, 10 medium-priority projects totaling $550,200, and eight low-priority projects totaling $568,700. The committee voted unanimously to release the ranked draft to the Town Manager to guide the FY27 budget process.
The committee also agreed to review capital requests for future fiscal years with preliminary rankings to support longer-term financing decisions.
