Commission approves tree removal, continues two major projects

Belchertown Conservation Commission approves tree removal while continuing review of two residential projects. The Commission issued a negative determination for Michele Lariviere's removal of four pines and one dead poplar at 43 Kopec Avenue, subject to leaving five-foot stumps and preserving a maple tree. Two Notice of Intent hearings were continued to May 18: Joseph Miller's single-family home, pool, and accessory dwelling unit on Lot A West Street, and Ken Kozlik's accessory dwelling unit at 35 Lake Drive, which remains stalled over buffer-zone violations.
The Commission also approved a Certificate of Compliance for Pepper Ridge Estates and continued review of a ten-unit duplex complex on Pelham Road pending Planning Board peer review.
