Committee approves February minutes and charts solar and EV charging courses.

Energy and Sustainability Committee · Meeting of April 16, 2026

BELCHERTOWN — Energy committee plots solar lease before July tax credit deadline. The committee approved the February minutes and advanced the rooftop solar project with three additional companies now interested, setting a May presentation to the Select Board to meet the July 4, 2026 Federal Investment Tax Credit expiration. Chris Bambacus and John Piekara will guide the process using a Canton RFP template.

Meanwhile, EV charger usage grew from 128 kilowatt-hours in January to 300 in March, with Mike Potishnak coordinating warranty details and cost-per-kilowatt discussions. The May 2 Earth Day event will feature charging station visuals and seedlings, with confirmed participation from Lake Wallace and Friends of the Greenway.
