BELCHERTOWN — Communications Committee approves community events and social media policies. The committee voted 4-0-1 to accept the Community Events Partners Policy, which will govern public event submissions through CivicPlus and require staff review before calendar posting; Communications Manager Kate Nadeau will present the policy to the Select Board. The committee also voted 4-0-1 to accept an updated Social Media Statement.
Nadeau reported the annual town report will be ready for review in two weeks and is being reorganized by theme; the town newsletter has approximately 620 subscribers and achieved an 87 percent open rate following a recent reminder email to non-openers. Chair Chris Martin and Vice Chair Ed Comeau attended Mass AI Hub events in Cambridge featuring Massachusetts' plan to adopt AI systems for state government and eventually municipalities.
