CPC hears modified High School field project proposal.

Community Preservation Committee · Meeting of April 7, 2026

BELCHERTOWN — CPC hears revised High School field project, no formal approval recorded. The Community Preservation Committee heard a presentation from Superintendent Brian Cameron and Buildings and Grounds Director Eric Lebeau on modifications to the Belchertown High School Stadium Field Reconstruction. Site testing determined on-site wells could produce only 8 and 12 gallons per minute, insufficient for peak irrigation demand, prompting a shift from full-field reconstruction to targeted turf rehabilitation supported by an on-site water storage system.

The revised project is estimated at $232,000, within the original $254,000 appropriation. The School Department outlined a long-term maintenance plan including approximately $10,000 in annual water cost savings and a dedicated $10,000 annual maintenance budget.
