Cultural Council · Meeting of August 3, 2026

Belchertown Cultural Council unanimously approves revised 2026 grant priorities. The six-member council, chaired by Melanie Donovan, voted to remove restrictions requiring school-based events and repealing mandatory application through an education foundation, instead prioritizing new programs over repeat grantees. The council confirmed an August 24 Grant Reception from 5 to 7 p.m. with a 1,000-dollar budget, including 250 dollars for guitarist Todd Perry.

Administrative items included updates on the secondary bench project, budgeted at 6,000 dollars, which will be presented to the Selectboard with a new Americans with Disabilities Act compliant design.
