Fair Committee plans lighting upgrades, adds youth pumpkin contest for 2026.

BELCHERTOWN — The Belchertown Fair Committee adopted the 2026 theme "Stars, Stripes and Fair Nights" and approved parade application updates capping commercial vehicles at two entries and adding a youth pumpkin contest category. Chair Mark Nute reported 2025 vendor income at $24,608 across 70 vendors, down from 90 the prior year, with total fair income of $53,000 from Fanelli Amusements and $13,584 in sponsorships. The committee plans 50-amp electrical service on Main Street for three large food vendors and approved lighting upgrades including a new 20-by-20 tent, safety crosswalk lights, and pole-mounted halogen replacements.
Meetings will transition to online format with video recording provided by BCTV.
