BELCHERTOWN — Finance Committee approves $36,000 reserve fund release for town security upgrades. Chair Brian Gibbons and four members voted unanimously to transfer the funds for upgraded security equipment at town hall, a matter that sidestepped the usual Capital Improvement Committee approval process. Town Manager Steve Williams and Police Chief Kevin Pacunas outlined the security concerns driving the request.

The transfer leaves $69,000 remaining in the Finance Committee's reserve account.
