BELCHERTOWN — Finance Committee declines stand on Fire Chief versus Finance Director funding. The panel met March 23 as part of a tri-board session to review the town's FY27 budget and School Department final FY27 budget, but declined to recommend allocating $20,000 for a new Finance Director position or additional deputy Fire Chief funding, deeming the staffing choice a personnel decision outside committee authority. Chair Brian Gibbons noted potential succession costs if the Fire Chief leaves.

Members present were Gibbons, Vice Chair Mike McMorrow, and Katie Longley.
