Historical Commission plans 250th celebration task force

BELCHERTOWN — Historical Commission establishes task force for Belchertown's 250th anniversary celebration. Members Susan Tyler, Angela Bergeron-Alexander, Robert Lewis, Michael Carolan, and Jill Bierly unanimously approved January meeting minutes and designated Lewis for the task force, which convenes March 4 at 4 pm at BUCC. Planned events include a Community Summit on March 14, Museum opening May 9, Stone House reenactors on May 16, Ice Cream Social on July 26, Food Truck Friday on August 21, tag sale on August 22, and fireworks in September; the commission also floated ideas for reenactments, a Community Band patriotic evening, and a library poster contest highlighting local history.
