Lakes Committee approves water testing at Lake Arcadia

Lake Committee · Meeting of May 12, 2026

BELCHERTOWN — Lakes Committee unanimously authorizes UMass water testing at Lake Arcadia. Committee members John Soja, Reenie Desabrais, and Theresa Cain voted to allow the university ecologist's testing after Water and Wetlands staff visited Lakes Holland and Arcadia on April 29. Chemical treatment of both lakes is scheduled for May 14, supported by field data.

Treasurer Soja reported the account balance at $2,893.50 with a $5,000 town budget allocation approved May 11. The Tri-Lakes Watershed Association has not yet forwarded $7,000 for ongoing maintenance.
