BELCHERTOWN — Opioid Settlement Fund Advisory Committee hears pitch on expanding family overdose support. Elsa Gomes Bondlow and Whitney King of HALO, a Boston program that served 50 families last year, presented the organization's model for assisting overdose victims' families with funeral, legal, and behavioral health costs, with maximum payments of $5,000 per family and funeral assistance up to $7,500. Chair Gail Gramarossa and the committee also learned the Select Board postponed a decision on Honest Beginnings' sober house basement renovation project on April 6 pending additional documentation.

The Drug Free Communities grant was renewed for Belchertown Public Schools under a new July-to-June fiscal calendar.
