Planning Board continues Lafleur subdivision hearing; approves three ANRs and site plan modification

Belchertown Planning Board continued a public hearing on an 18-lot subdivision for Jason Lafleur while approving a parking expansion for Cutchins Programs for Children and Families. Chair Dan Beaudette raised concerns about sightline distances on Route 9 and Route 181 during the 66-acre Lafleur project hearing; Vice Chair Elizabeth Pols disagreed with the traffic engineer's analysis, citing heavy seasonal UMass traffic. The board and applicant reached agreement on stormwater-basin fencing and removal of a maintenance swale, but deferred final approval to February 10 pending peer-review letters, refined waiver requests, and additional traffic-visibility measurements.
In separate unanimous votes, the board approved a 14-space parking addition at Cutchins and three ANRs permitting boundary-line shifts and lot subdivisions totaling eight new parcels across three properties.
