Recreation Committee approves fireworks display to kick off Fair weekend.

Recreation Committee · Meeting of March 4, 2026

BELCHERTOWN — Recreation Committee approves fireworks display before Fair weekend. The Recreation Department will host a 20-minute show Thursday evening at an estimated cost of 18,000 dollars, with a fundraising goal of 22,000 dollars to cover Police and Fire Department costs; the community event will feature food trucks, bands, and parking donations at CHCS, Swift River, and the High School. Kyle Thibeault will meet with grant coordinator Dawn Cote to discuss July submission of a small state park grant.

The school will no longer charge the Recreation Department for electricity and sewer, resulting in a 16,000-dollar budget reduction. A Survey Monkey found the sport court pickleball court unfavorable; the department will pursue repairs in another direction.
