Select Board approves Complete Streets Committee, early voting, police details at 2026 elections.

BELCHERTOWN — Select Board unanimously creates Complete Streets Project Committee and authorizes police for three 2026 elections. DPW Director Linda Leduc reported the town received $37,091 in state funding and has access to up to $500,000 over three years through the MassDOT Complete Streets Program, which will not draw from general operating funds. The board voted unanimously to authorize two police officers each at elections on May 18, September 1, and November 3; also voted unanimously to opt in to early in-person voting for the May 18 town election, with voting May 4-8 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, extended to 7:00 PM on May 6.
Town Manager Steven J. Williams reported the transfer station's main trash compactor has failed and requires replacement at approximately $37,000.
