Belchertown Select Board unanimously approved a Holocaust Remembrance Day proclamation and flag raising for January 27th at 1 p.m. The board also endorsed two Massachusetts trails grant applications totaling approximately $440,000 in requested funding: $300,000 for the Mass Central Rail Trail central one-mile segment and $140,000 for the Lake Wallace Sensory Trail Jackson Street Connector. Fire Chief John Ingram presented plans to expand the town's defibrillator inventory from five units to additional municipal locations with a ten-year lifespan per unit.
Town Manager Steven J. Williams reported that the town is preparing a Request for Proposal for health insurance alternatives to the Hampshire County Group Insurance Trust, with responses expected by early February, though no decision to withdraw has been made.
