Belchertown Water District ends outdoor watering ban
The Belchertown Water District's Board of Commissioners voted to end the non-essential outdoor watering ban that had been in place since September 2025, after the state lowered Belchertown's drought status to Level 0.
The Belchertown Water District's Board of Commissioners has voted to end the district's non-essential outdoor watering ban, the district announced Oct. 21.
The ban had been in place since September 2025. The commissioners' decision follows recent rainfall and a move by the state Drought Management Task Force to lower Belchertown's drought status to Level 0, or Normal.
Belchertown Water District customers may now resume all outdoor water use, including watering lawns, washing vehicles and houses, and filling swimming pools.
The district noted it is separate from the Town of Belchertown and is run by its own Board of Commissioners. Customers with questions about the ban or their water service can contact the district at 413-323-6987 or Admin@belchertownwaterdistrict.org.
