Finance Committee approves $45,400 reserve transfer for legal services.

Finance Committee · Meeting of June 8, 2026

Belchertown Finance Committee approves $45,400 legal-services transfer, exhausting reserves. Chair Brian Gibbons, Vice Chair Mike McMorrow, and Clerk Richard Kowal were unanimously re-elected. The committee also unanimously approved five separate appropriation transfers totaling $31,944 covering law, hydrant services, fire-station building, unemployment, and Medicare accounts.

Town Accountant Jill Rossi reported that Stabilization Fund borrowings for health insurance have been repaid, and recent property sales including Franklin School ($150,000) and 6 Berkshire Avenue ($105,000) will help rebuild reserves. Excess FY27 state funding above the Governor's budget will be deposited to the Stabilization Fund pending further town direction.
