Belchertown Planning Board Backs Four-Unit Warren Wright Road Conversion

BELCHERTOWN — February 24, 2026 — Belchertown Planning Board unanimously backs a four-unit housing conversion and signs a lot-line reconfiguration at its February 24 meeting. The board voted 5-0 to recommend that the Zoning Board of Appeals grant a special permit to petitioner Joshua Kenny of 48 Meeting House Road to convert 167 Warren Wright Road — the former Topping Farm — from a three-unit to a four-unit dwelling by repurposing a garage, with the ZBA scheduled to hear the matter March 18. The board separately approved an Approval Not Required lot-line reconfiguration for Thomas and Deborah Alicky on Map 278, keeping four lots in and four lots out. Members also approved minutes from February 10 and a $16.88 WB Mason office supplies bill. The meeting's longest stretch was an annual goal-setting discussion that ranged from a Fuss and O'Neal zoning bylaw review and a Pioneer Valley Planning Commission land-use plan to parking standards the chair called "overbuilt," a Section 145-24 animal-keeping complaint already working through town, and signage regulations members said go widely unenforced — with Select Board member Jennifer Turner attending as a guest and urging the board to bring these topics to an upcoming community summit.
