Board of Health approves septic upgrade for Ware Road property.
Board of Health · Meeting of August 24, 2026
BELCHERTOWN — Board of Health approves Ware Road septic upgrade conditioned on Conservation approval. The Board unanimously authorized PAH Properties LLC to reduce groundwater separation two feet and deploy an Eljen GSF system for 280 Ware Road, with Roger Bacon, Title V consultant, confirming the system qualifies for the reduction. In a separate vote, the Board voted 4-1-0 to uphold the Director of Public Health's June 26 order requiring property owner Nathan Evancic to design a septic system for four bedrooms rather than three, rejecting his attorney's argument that a deed restriction could reduce the presumptive bedroom count under Title V.
The Board also agreed to pursue joining the Pioneer Valley Mosquito Control District at an estimated $5,000 annually, targeting July 1, 2027 enrollment through the standard budget process.
