Historical Commission approves July minutes, advances 250th anniversary fundraising
Historical Commission · Meeting of August 25, 2026
BELCHERTOWN — The Belchertown Historical Commission approved July minutes and advanced preservation work on multiple fronts. The commission submitted a project proposal to Massachusetts Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer Michael Steinitz for Lampson Brook preservation grants and received notice of pending bike repair station installations across Western Massachusetts trails. Members approved a letter of support for State Historic Tax credits backing rehabilitation of the Belchertown State School Administration Building, with Angela Bergeron-Alexander to transmit it.
Fundraising for the town's 250th anniversary is progressing, including cupcake sales by Pathfinder and a planned newsletter on the town website.
